Here at O'Brien's Tire, we know how important tires are to both your safety and comfort when driving. We use a crucial procedure called tire truing. Tire truing guarantees that your wheels are correctly balanced, making for a safer and smoother ride.
We have a 4-Step Process that provides the smoothest ride possible.
- This process is only done on New Tires Purchased & Installed by O’Brien’s Tire -
Tire truing is designed to maximize the performance of the wheels and tires on your car. In order to make sure your tires and wheels operate properly and wear evenly, the procedure usually involves balancing your tires to the wheel that it is mounted on. The process involves trimming the high spots off the tire while the tire is rotated about its mount point. Don’t be fooled. Tires do not come round from the manufacturer. They have imperfections causing high and low spots.
The Tire Truing Process catches and fixes the problem tires, while fine tuning the others.
Summer tires are designed for optimal performance in dry and warm conditions, with a focus on handling and precision. All-season tires are designed to provide good performance in a variety of weather conditions, including dry and wet roads, as well as light snow. All-season tires are a good choice for drivers who live in areas with mild winters.
Modern balancing equipment is used at O'Brien's Tire to find and fix any imbalances in your wheel and tire combination. To find imbalances, our specialists install your wheels on the device and spin them quickly. Then, in order to compensate for any unequal distribution and provide a secure and comfortable ride, we precisely add weights to the wheel rims.
If your wheel rims have been damaged, such as from hitting a pothole, we can perform wheel straightening. This restores your wheels to their original shape, preventing issues like wobbling and ensuring a smoother drive. If there is any damage to your wheel we can straighten or even repair your wheel at a cheaper cost than buying a new wheel.
Regular tire inspections are part of our comprehensive service. We check for signs of damage, uneven wear patterns, and other issues that might require attention. Addressing these issues early helps prevent more costly repairs down the line.
When a tire is “just installed” on the wheel the imperfections of the new tire and used wheel may cause a side to side wobble in the tire. This wobble can be felt while driving.
Before we start the truing process, we inspect the tire as it spins. We are checking for radial and lateral tire run-out. When we see any of these issues we mark the tire accordingly. Then the tire is repositioned on the wheel and rechecked. Only when this wobble or run-out is removed do we true a tire.
We pride ourselves on providing top-notch tire truing services to keep your vehicle running at its best. Using the latest technology to ensure precise and effective balancing. Whether you need a simple balance, new tire installed or wheel repair/rim repair, we’re here to provide expert service and advice.
